Sometimes we all need a bit of love and care for our lips - especially in the cold weather. Applying a layer of lip balm will give you an invisible shield against the elements as well as moisturising your lips.
Making lip balms is really easy and results in a great end product where you know exactly what it is made of.
Using a combination of a base oil and melted butter and wax you can create your own products and recipes.
We have included a selection of butters, oils, flavour oils and jars in order to get you started.
Plus if you are looking for a premade base, we have one of those too. Simply add your own flavours and personalise it for you.
A basic Lip Balm Recipe would be
45 g Oil - try Sweet Almond or Extra Virgin Olive Oil
15g Beeswax - white or yellow
15g Butter - Shea or Cocoa are ideal
Added extras can include Natural Vitamin E (2g), and or a few drops of a Flavour Oil.
Melt the beeswax, butters and oils in a double boiler. Leave the melted mixture to cool for 5 minutes and then pour into Lip Balm Pots. They will be ready 24 hours later.
We also offer a ready made Lip Balm Base which isuses Shea Butter and Sunflower Oil as its base - just melt and pour.
