Candle Wicks

All of our wicks are manufactured by Wedo, who are a market leader in the production of candle wicks in Europe.

We offer a range of wicks in 20 metre lengths.  All Wedo wicks are made from pure long strand ring spun cotton and are pure white in appearance.

The LX range is a very thin coreless flatwick which when burning curls into the flame giving the advantage of a self trimming effect. The stabilising threads ensure an optimum burn profile which allows for a stable and consistent flame.

It is suitable for both paraffin and the soya wax bases.

The FW range ("SU") is  a flat braided, coreless wick with the same self trimming properties as the LX range.  It is suitable for most wax formulations.

When choosing your wick it is important to select the correct size.  The aim is for a clean burn, with a flame that does not flicker and a melt pool that reaches to the edge of the container/mould. 

If the wick is too small the candle will burn with a very small melt pool and create a tunnel effect down the wick.  It is likely that you will run out of wick before you reach the bottom.

If the wick is too large it will create a deep melt pool, make the container very hot and the flame will flicker excessively.
